Strange Fruits

Call me crazy, but sometimes when you walk past things – do you see little faces? Whether it’s a bend in the handrail, the foam of your coffee, or pucker in a lemon. Sometimes it’s nice to look down on a Monday morning and find something smiling at you. Sarah Illenberger creates her own experiences and makes her food into rainbows, diamonds and disco balls. The Berlin-based art director and photographer uses common fruits and vegetables to meticulously handcraft them into something new. The joys of a witty concept and playful execution.

This series Tutti Frutti began when she was taking a stroll through food markets in Italy, and began to grab fruit and vegetables, transforming them into everything from pome-grenades to Rubix-fruits. Check out her work…
